Airport traveler

White House announced opening the U.S. border last month and finally we have a date and guidelines. Fully vaccinated tourists are welcome to travel to United States starting November 8th, 2021, following certain guidelines, of course.

The CDC, Federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, website has the full guidelines to all travelers wishing to travel to United States, and here’s the summary.

Traveler entering United States must:

  1. Be fully vaccinated
  2. Show vaccination card (in English and information must match the traveler’s personal info)
  3. Show negative Covid-19 test result, taken maximum 3 days prior travel
  4. Must wear a mask in the airplane during travel

If you are not a citizen or a lawful permanent resident / green card holder, and you are not fully vaccinated, you will not be granted into the country.

Approved vaccines are:

Negative Covid-19 test result is required, even if fully vaccinated

If you are fully vaccinated tourist traveler, you must show a negative Covid-19 test result that was taken maximum 3 days prior to your travel. The results must be in English. If you are a citizen or Green card holder, but you are not fully vaccinated, you must show a negative Covid-19 test result that was taken maximum 1 day prior to your travel.

Contact tracing

CDC, The Federal Center for Disease Control and Prevention, is requiring all airlines to collect passenger information for contact tracing and tracking purposes. All travelers must provide address where they are residing during their stay and they will be also asked for contact information like email and phone number. The information is collected so passengers that might be exposed to the virus can be notified.

All passengers are recommended to get tested 3 – 5 days after arriving to the United States

Getting tested after arrival is a recommendation, not a must. However, if you do experience symptoms of Covid-19, you should self-quarantine and get tested as soon as possible. If your test result is positive, follow the instructions given by the healthcare provider and quarantine until you are recovered.

Welcome back to Florida; we have missed you all!
