The purpose of the association is to maintain Finnish culture, heritage, and traditions among people of Finnish origin, who are living or visiting in South Florida. Finland House history is based upon friendship, cherishing the mutual relationships among Finns in our area.
The activities at Finland House are organized mainly during “the season”, from October to May.
Finland House activities include performers from Finland, and all areas of Finnish culture and heritage are represented.
Several membership organizations gather at Finland House premises. Example of the various activities offered by them are English language classes, fitness classes, dances, karaoke and other entertainment nights.
The popular Finnish Pancake Breakfast and Rummage Sale are held once a month during the season.
The library with about 8000 Finnish language books is open during “season” on Sunday afternoons, likewise the impressive Price of Freedom Museum.
The downstairs of the Finland House has two halls, a bar, and a kitchen.
The upstairs includes the library, the museum and other meeting areas.
The halls and meetings rooms are available for rent, for private and corporate functions, such as weddings, birthday parties, lectures, etc. through out the year.
