Finnair has increased its presence in Stockholm and will be adding new direct flights to the schedule. The new routes added by the end of 2021 will be Stockholm Arlanda to New York, and Stockholm to Los Angeles.
Norwegian airline left a void at Arlanda airport, which Finnair has been filling. The pandemic wasn’t easy for many airlines. Norwegian airlines used to fly frequently from Arlanda to United States and now, Finnair will be the one operating some of these routes. Two routes from Arlanda to the east and west coast of the United States will be add-ons to the already existing Finnair operated direct flights from Arlanda: Miami, Bangkok and Phuket.
Finnair, Stockholm – Los Angeles (AY3) flight starts November 2nd, 2021. Flight days will be Tuesday, Friday and Sunday. The return flight will be then on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.
Finnair, Stockholm – New York (AY29) Flight is scheduled to start on December 7th, 2021. This flight will be operated during Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays as well as on Saturdays.
Adding two additional direct flights from Arlanda to the United States will help bringing some of Finnair’s furloughed employees back. The goal is employing 270 Finnish aviation industry employees.
