Did you know that from 8 AM – 11 AM each week day, you can generally find a group of Finns and Finn enthusiasts at the Palm Beach Bakery?

This ad-hoc “Finnish Bakery Club” gets together to enjoy Suomalaista kahvia (Finnish coffee) and delicious, freshly-baked Finnish pastries, as well as lots of good conversation in Finnish and English.  Even during the pandemic, it’s great to know that you can still get together and literally break bread with one another, thanks to the bakery’s wonderful selection of traditional Scandinavian breads, such as Ruisleipa (dark sourdough rye), Maalaisleipa (multigrain) as well as French bread. The Palm Beach Bakery has ample outdoor seating with umbrella-covered tables, and fans of this Finnish mainstay gather her before the heat of the day.

The best part if the friendly staff who will great you with happy “Hyvää päivää” (Good day) before preparing your coffee or cappuccino drinks exactly as you like.

In addition to an assortment of yummy baked goods, such as fruit-filled pastries, freshl pulla, (Finnish cardamon breads) cinnamon buns, real cake donuts, and flakey croissants, the bakery also offers heartier selections, such as smoked salmon and egg sandwiches. More new items coming up! Stay tuned!

I am a happy member of the “Finnish Bakery Club,” and I look forward to seeing you there! By the way, you don’t have to be Finnish, although I happen to be of Finnish descent. (My Mother was from Turku). Everyone is welcome, especially if you appreciate heavenly baked goods and good, strong coffee!
